HOW TO USE YOUR DOUBLE XL PENCIL

  • This pencil uses 0.7mm lead.

  • Turn the upper barrel of the pencil clockwise to extend lead, and counter-clockwise to retract it.

REPLACING THE LEAD IN YOUR DOUBLE XL PENCIL

  • Twist the chrome tip of the pencil counter-clockwise until it completely unscrews. Set it aside.

  • Turn the upper barrel of the pencil clockwise (as if to extend the lead) until a small gold cylinder extends from the metallic gold threads.

  • Place the new lead into the hole in the center of the small gold cylinder and gently but firmly push it into the cylinder.

  • Turn the upper barrel of the pencil counter-clockwise (as if to retract the lead). The lead should retract into the pencil as you turn. Continue turning the upper barrel until the lead doesn’t extend far beyond the metallic gold threads.

  • Screw the chrome tip of the pencil back onto the end of the pen.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • If the pencil lead is falling out of the pencil, the lead probably isn’t firmly seated into the small gold cylinder. To check if the lead is seated well, insert it into the cylinder then carefully turn the pen upside-down (NOTE: Be careful not to lose parts! The black circle at the pencil’s tip is held in place by the tip, so it may fall off) The lead should stay, held in place by the cylinder. If it falls out, insert it more firmly into the cylinder.
